අපගේ සංගමයේ සංස්කෘතික උපසහාවේ ලක්ලන් සහ බූමින්ද ගේ මූලිකත්වයෙන් ගී ආනන්දනී සංගීත ප්‍රසංගය පන්සීයකට ආසන්න ලංන්ඩන්වාසී සංගීත ලෝලයින් ගේ ගීරස පිනවමින් කැම්ඩන් පුරහල් ශාලාවේදී ඉදිරිපත් කරනලදී.

එදින විසාරද නීලා වික්‍රමසිංහගේ සහ කරුණාරතන දිවුල්ගනගේ මියුරු ගීයෙන්ද සුරේෂ් මාලියද්දගේ අති දක්‍ෂ සංගීත මෙහෙයුමින්ද රසිකයන්ගේ සිත්සතන් පුබුදුකෙරූබව නොඅනුමානය. සනත් සතිස්චන්ද්‍ර වයලීනයෙන් ද ප්‍රියන්ත දසනායක බටනලාවෙන් ද මහී පැස්කුවෙල් ගිටාරයෙන් ද නිහාල් කලුබෝවිල තබ්ලාවෙන් ද සංගීත ප්‍රසංගය නැරඹීමට පැමිනි සංගීත ලෝලයින් වඩාත් පිනවන්නට අතිශයෙන් සහායදුනි.

London Buddhist Vihara 90th Anniversary - 10th to 15th September 2016
To mark the 90th Anniversary, the London Buddhist Vihara founded by Anagarika Dharmapala is organising an exhibition to display the Vihara's history leading up to the present times. The exhibition will be open to all devotees and the public from 10th to 15th September between 7 and 9 pm. In parallel with the exhibition the Vihara will be conducting the following programme daily on each evening.

The programme on each day will be sponsored by two of the Past Pupils Associations of Sri Lankan schools in the UK. The Association of Old Anandians in the UK together with the Dharmaraja OBA UK have accepted to carry out the supporting duties as required on the 12th September. We cordially invite on behalf of the Vihara our members, past pupils of Ananda and our supporters to participate in these activities.
The 90th Anniversary programme will be concluded with the Founders Day speech given by Mr. Sugeeswara Gunaratne, Deputy High Commissioner for Sri Lanka on 17th September at 5 pm followed by Pirith at 7.30 pm.

Annual Dinner Dance 2016
This year, our Annual Dinner Dance is at Runnymead-on-Thames Hotel in Egham on Saturday the 2nd of July and the music for the event is provided by Exceed. We invite all Anandins and well-wishers in the UK to join us to make this an enjoyable and a memorable evening. Please contact a committee member for more information.

මෙවසර අපගේ සංස්කෘතික උපසහාවේ ලක්ලන් සහ බූමින්ද මෙහෙයවූ අලුත් අවුරුදු උත්සවය ඉතාමත් ජයට පැවැත්වුනි. කින්ස්බරි උසස් පාසැල් සාලාව පිරී ඉතිරීගොස් තිබූ අතර අවුරුදු උත්සව සිරියෙන් ද බැබලුනි. යවුන් හා ලමා ගීද රැගුම්ද විකට අංගද පොල් ගෑම කඹ ඈදීම ආදී තරඟ ද කාගේත් මන පිනවූ අතර කිරිබත් කැවුම් කොකිස් ආදීයද ගත ද පිනවන්නට ඇතිබව නොඅනුමානය​. මෙම උත්සවය සාර්තක කර ගැනීමට කාරක සභිකයනුත් අප සමාජිකයනුත් ඔවුන්ගේ පවුලේ සමාජිකයනුත් අපගේ හිත මිතුරනුත් ගත් උනදුවත් දුන් සහායත් මෙහිලා සදහන්කල යුතුවම අැත​.

English Language Activity Centre

The English Language Activity Centre for the Primary School children at Ananda was inaugurated on the 14th May 2015. The Activity Centre curriculum, chosen with young learners needs in mind, and the training of the teachers has been adopted in consultation with the British Council ELT expertise. The project was fully funded by our Association and is intended to be a conducive environment to introduce and improve their English language usage for the early learners.

2015 Annual Dinner Dance
The Annual Dinner Dance was held at the Runneymead on Thames Hotel on 26th June with over 150 guests in attendance. The dedication and collective effort of our Social sub-committee and the support we received from all our friends and well-wishers made this event a great success.

2014 AGM - Saturday, 6th December
The AGM was held at St Andrews Church Hall,Malvern Avenue,South Harrow. A new Committee was appointed for the year 2015 with Dilruk Jayamanna as the new Hon. President. A social event followed the AGM with a good representation of members, well-wishers and their family members.

Anagarika Dharmapala 150 year birth anniversary
A series of religious ceremonies and an exhibition will be held to commemorate the 150-year birth anniversary of Anagarika Dharmapala at the London Buddhist Vihara starting from the 12th September. Anagarika Dharmapala worked tirelessly with great determination urging against the neglect of traditional cultural and religious practices and for the rejuvenations of neglected places of historical significance during the latter part of the 19th century. Anagarika Dharmapala�s activities were not limited to what was then Ceylon but he was instrumental in the restoration of Buddha Gaya in India, starting the London Buddhist Vihara and many other activities. Most Recent Projects
In the recent past our Association has made donations towards a number of projects to encourage present Anadians to continue to excel in educational as well as extra-curricular activities. For sports we have made donations to rowing, rugby, cricket and tennis activities. Currently we have an ongoing project to set up a Language Laboratory in consultation with the British Council for the Primary School children to improve their English learning facilities. Further more we donated generously towards the Ananda Vihara renovation project which is now complete and the Vihara was ceremonially reopened on 4th March 2014. Col. Olcott Memorial Daana 2012
The annual daana in memory of was held as usual at the London Buddhist Vihara Chiswick on Sunday, the 21st of October this year. The religious activities were completed with the transfer of merits led by the head of the Vihara, Ven. Bogoda Seelawimala to Col. Olcott and all those who were instrumental in establishing a chain of Buddhist schools starting with Ananda in 1886.

Ananda V Jaffna Hindu Cricket Match
Ananda College played Jaffna Hindu College in Colombo on the 7 & 8th of September 2012, which to all concerned was much more than just another cricket match. It was a joint exercise to rekindle the camaraderie which was prevalent among the communities in the long past but got derailed due to very unfortunate developments in the recent past. It rejuvenates the desire at Ananda since inception to develop and establish harmonious relationship among all the citizenry in Sri Lanka. It also show, irrespective of legislations eventually what matters is the bonding between the peoples.
