A Brief History
The College is named after Arahath Ananda, the chief disciple of Gauthama Buddha.
Ananda College is the leading Buddhist school in Sri Lanka.
The College was started (c.1886) by a movement initiated by

The AOA UK was established in 1982 by the past pupils of the College who were resident in UK, to conduct activities compatible with the stated aims of the Association.
